      @@RevitStructureBlog Yeh, I know that, but because of that, it completely misreads the CAD file and adds new triangulation of the surface. In particular, we have a case where we have a flat surface that meats a sheer cut in a site, followed by another flat area. Revit interprets this scenario by adding new points where the sheer cut is and creates triangulated 45deg batter.

    Would have been interesting to see you do it with different serial sizes. I'm currently trying to draw an analytical frame with varying sizes and all of the analytical lines are on the centroid of the geometry with no way of setting to a specific level - seems kinda useless.

    • @RevitStructureBlog
      @RevitStructureBlog 3 месяца назад

      It doesn't matter what the section size is with the analytical members. All the elements will be drawn on the same plane. When the physical model is created you control if the members are top of steel, bottom of steel etc.

    • @nicebikemate
      @nicebikemate 3 месяца назад

      @@RevitStructureBlog I blame frustration but I should have specified that I'm attempting to utilise the Autodesk 'generate analytical model' dynamo graph and it is very much is putting all of the analytical lines on the centroid - both in 23 and 24 irrespective of the tolerances and options picked in the graph. I could no doubt draw it manually on the correct plane, however then I'm in the realm of "why not just draw it natively in the analysis package". Okay it won't be dynamic, however in this case it's an existing building so that isn't an issue. It just feels as if they've taken a massive leap backward. All it would take is the option to 'set line to level' and 'set line to grid' in the properties. I appreciate that theoretically their dynamo script has that option, but after hours of fiddling with it yesterday, it doesn't seem to work.

    • @RevitStructureBlog
      @RevitStructureBlog 3 месяца назад

      @@nicebikemate ah, thats a different case! Yes, the analytical model generation graph for 2023 & 2024 is not up to the job. Autodesk have rewritten this for 2025 which is a big improvement. However, to generate the analytical lines for the framing you can get the location line in Dynamo which will follow the physical model. For example, if all your steelwork is justified to top then the location lines will all be at the top as well.
